At Casino Cirsa Valencia, we draw on our experience with games of chance to innovate and bring the dynamics of a poker game into the corporate world. We’ve turned it into a training and/or incentive tool for companies. And we do so with a product that is innovative in form and tremendously effective in substance. The Poker Experience activity uses Texas Hold’em as a vehicle for networking, learning, and having fun.
The fascination that Texas Hold’em holds for the general public stems from the clever use of various tactical elements which, when properly explained, allow us to draw parallels with the business world and the skills—or soft skills—that come into play at a poker table.
Throughout the session, we analyze the hands played to link them to certain corporate competencies, such as analytical ability, a big-picture view of the business, decision-making in changing VUCA environments, self-control, budget management, analyzing positions of strength in a negotiation, emotional intelligence, knowledge of competitors, creativity, and the pursuit of common goals (in the case of a team tournament).

And no. You don’t need to know how to play poker to enjoy this experience. The activity begins with a simple explanation of the rules of the game and a handout listing the possible plays.
After a couple of practice hands, during which players observe the behaviors and attitudes of the other participants, a tournament begins where each player will learn from an expert which elements of poker they can apply to their daily professional life. And during each “hand analysis,” we explain behaviors and attitudes—whether conscious or unconscious—that affect daily performance.
All of this takes place in an environment that is usually new to participants, which helps take them out of their comfort zone. In a Poker Experience session at Casino Cirsa Valencia, you’ll have your own table and professional croupier, as well as the expert who leads the game and the competency analysis.
